Joe Duffy Leasing Proud Partners of the Nicholas Roche Summer Classic

Irish professional cyclist 'Nicolas Roche' returned to the roads where he first won his national championship, leading off the 'Nicolas Roche Summer Classic'. The leisure spin took place on Saturday 16th August and started off from Dunshaughlin, where Nicholas's uncle Laurence, now living in Summerhill, resided for many years. There were three different routes in the classic - the family cycle of 12 km, the 60km and 100km route. Cyclists from all over the country arrived to meet Nicholas, where they also had a once in a lifetime chance to ride along side him in the Cycling Classic. Joe Duffy Leasing proudly supplied the Lead Car which lead the Cyclists on their route through the Dunshaughlan Classic. Nicolas cycled out with three groups, the first at 09.00 on the 100k route and was then brought back to the start by one of our Joe Duffy Fleet car's where he then lead out the next batch of 200 riders on a 60kms run. Finally Nicholas was returned back to the starting line one last time to lead out 150 kids and parents on a 12k spin.

The French-born son of former champion cyclist Stephen Roche enjoyed many spins out to Meath when living for a period in Dublin, as he recalls there were good roads which were quiet enough to cycle comfortably on. Now living in France, he has just finished a gruelling Tour de France and is preparing for Hamburg’s major event, the Vattenfall Cyclassic, next week.

All of us here at Joe Duffy Leasing would like to wish Nicholas all the best in his upcoming event and would like to thank all involved in the Dunshaughlin Classic for organising such wonderful, fun filled event for everyone that attended.
