Aerodynamic contours, frameless windows, a striking rear design – the Arteon’s allure endures far beyond the first encounter. And the R-Line trim level features additional exterior highlights that emphasise these dynamic elements.
The Arteon lettering on the rear holds out the promise of more; it is guaranteed to turn heads and leave a lasting impression. The name is taken from the Latin word for art and alludes to the coherent, aesthetic lines of the design.
The modern rear LED lamps give the Arteon a signature look. The optional sweeping LED turn indicators featured in the R-Line and Elegance trim levels are a striking, safety-enhancing feature.
Comfort.
The look-and-feel of the cockpit in Arteon’s new R-Line trim is truly inspirational. The multifunction, leather sports steering wheel bears the “R-Line” badge and boasts decorative stitching; it is complemented by “Silver Rise” inlays in brushed aluminium. The optional “top-comfort” seats in “Nappa” leather with “carbon-style” inner faces of the side sections and decorative stitching and braiding, not to mention the “R-Line” badge embroidered into the front seats make each ride a feast for the senses.
Head up Display.
The optional Head-up Display presents key driving information directly in your field of vision. Speed, traffic signs and assistance systems, as well as warning and navigation messages, are pushed directly to the high-quality head-up display on the windscreen.
Car-Net App-Connect.
Operate the most important functions of your smartphone from the centre console. Telephony, messaging and music are available at the touch of a button. At Volkswagen, we call this App-Connect. Three innovative technologies that let you integrate smartphone content into the touchscreen of your infotainment system: MirrorLink™, CarPlay™ from Apple and Android Auto™ from Google.
ACC adaptive cruise control prevents you from exceeding a pre-set top speed1 and enables you to maintain a minimum distance to the vehicle in front2. And in traffic jams, this means that your Arteon can brake and pull off again completely automatically (with the optional DSG automatic gearbox).

2 Within the limits of the system
Coming out of a parking space in the busy town centre, manoeuvring in impassable terrain, attaching a trailer: there are many situations where a driver might need an extra pair of eyes. With the optional Area View, you’ve found them: four cameras monitor the area around the vehicle and supply useful views on the infotainment system screen. Almost like magic: coupling all the cameras helps the system create a bird’s eye view – and you've got the full view from above, of the car and its surroundings1.
1 Within the system’s limitations
On monotonous journeys, risky situations can arise. That's where the ‘Lane Assist’ lane keeping system comes into play: At speeds of 60 km/h and over, it can detect whether the vehicle has unintentionally left its lane.1 With corrective power steering, it can draw the driver’s attention back to what’s happening on the road.1
1 Within the system’s limitations. The driver must be ready at all times to override the assist system and is not released from their responsibility to drive the vehicle safely.
The Arteon with the optional Park Assist system not only tells you whether a parking space is large enough as you drive past it – it will also park for you1. You operate the clutch, accelerator and brake. It does the rest.
The standard Front Assist emergency brake assist with Pedestrian Monitoring can warn you in the event of critical situations, support you with braking or even automatically apply the brake in an emergency1.
1 Within the limits of the system.
The predictive dynamic cornering lights offer improved visibility on winding roads. The system begins to light corners before you start to turn the wheel.1 Literally a bright idea.
